The Journal of Astronomical History and Heritage (JAHH) was founded by John PERDRIX and Wayne ORCHISTON in 1998. The journal publishes refereed research papers, review papers, short communications, IAU reports, and book reviews on all aspects of astronomical history and heritage. This includes studies that place the nature and evolution of astronomy in a political, economic, social, historical, and cultural context. The JAHH is registered through Scopus with a 2022 impact factor of 0.94. It is also indexed by the ESCI since 2020.

The JAHH is published by the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), with Professors Wayne ORCHISTON and Yunli SHI as Co-Editors. It is an Open Access electronic journal quarterly published in March, June, September, and December. All papers are refereed prior to publication. No publication fees are charged. All papers in the current and back inssues are freely downloadable on this site, as well as on the SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System and the Rizal Technological University website. 

In January of 2023, the JAHH began a series of twice-monthly USTC Lectures on Astronomical History and Heritage. These Zoomed lectures are held on the first and third Saturdays of every month from 2 pm to 4 pm eastern China time. Each lecture is publicized on HASTRO-L and the JAHH LECTURES page of this website. An associated poster is emailed to interested astronomers worldwide.
